Message Hello Eileen, Both items appear to be European. The pitcher has one of those chinoiserie transfer-printed motifs that flourished in the late Victorian era, and possibly is 19th century English Staffordshire pottery. The mug has a pattern reminiscent of the 'immortelle' pattern, originally introduced by Meissen but abandoned after the Copenhagen Porcelain Factory began copying it in the late 18th century. This mug appears from its thickness and handle form to be much later, probably 20th century, but the 'Viking' name suggests an attempt to conjure up an association with the Danish 'immortelle' wares, which are still being made today I believe.
