Identifying the Chinese painter of the late 1800's |
Posted By: rat Posted Date: Jul 19, 2010 (10:52 AM) |
Message Hi Mikhael, Unfortunately I can't see the signature clearly when the image is magnified but I suspect this is a painting done recently. However, it is based upon the works of Lin Liang, a painter in this style of the Ming Dynasty. More recently Qi Baishi has painted eagles in this style, as well as his popular student Li Kuchan, who subsequently developed his own typical style of bird. If you search for images of these painters you will I'm sure find a few that are of even better quality than the T-shirt image you have found. Post a Response |
