Fan painting with bird/flowers - Chinese or Japanese? |
Posted By: Tim Posted Date: Oct 29, 2010 (08:56 AM) |
Message Grreetings. Is this a Japanese or Chinese fan? Can anyone help with the artist/period made? Here's the link to my photos... http://www.flickr.com/photos/23676403@N07/sets/72157625140984987/ Usually I can tell just by the subject matter as Japanese paintings during the Meiji era tend to be more naturalistic. However, I have found some Chinese fans by REN YI (1840-1896) sold by Sothebys that look similar in style, but the images are not large enough to see the detail really matches or not. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. Post a Response |
