Message The mark, shown 90-degrees right of reading position, says 'Made in Kutani' (Kutani Sei). This is a geographic mark, so the artist's name will remain a mystery. It may be that this information was included on or in the presentation boxes that often accompany Japanese vases of this apparent quality when purchased. Others may have a better perception of age, but my best guess is that these pieces could have been made a couple of decades before or after World War II and the ensuing occupation period.
