Seeking provenance and info on antique Chinese Ivory Figure |
Posted By: Kevin Roberts, San Antonio, TX Posted Date: Feb 01, 2011 (07:16 AM) |
Message Hi folks. I've recently inherited a collection of antique Chinese and African ivory carvings. I know where (and when) the African pieces came from, but the Chinese carvings have been passed down numerous times, their provenance long forgotten. I've posted pics of some of the pieces on Flickr. I am especially fond of (and curious about) the statue of the elder gentleman with the pipe. He (it) has such presence, that when i am in a room with him, I feel as if I am not alone. I appreciate your time and knowledge. Link :My Flickr Photostream Post a Response |
