Message Hi Richard, There's quite a few of these plates about. If you check online for (Celadon plate, butterflies) you will get several examples of what you own. It's Chinese made for export mid to late 19th century, famille rose decoration using insect and floral motifs and designs. Value wouldn't be much more than $150 though you do see most examples going for much lower. I remember seeing somewhere that having one of these with a bee included in the design made it a little more valuable. Future worth like everything depends on rarity and how sought after an object this is and on both counts this type of plate would not rate highly. No doubt there are others whose knowledge in these matters dwarf my own and will correct me if I am in error of judgement. Gerry Post a Response |
