Hi Wayne & Bill,
The mark on the vase reads,Seiji Gaisha kore tsukuru, which can be translated as "made by Seiji Gaisha", with a signature below, Sochiku. Seiji Gaisha (1879-1897) was owned and operated by the original members who started Koransha with Fukagawa Eizaemon, and later separated from Fukagawa and started their own company, with innovative modern factory methods from Europe but ended shortly. A signature, Sochiku is the pseudonym used by Takeji Fukaumi(1849-1898).
This very decorative bottle vase shows a traditional Japanese skill and a modern design, an excellent example of Seiji Gaisha. You are lucky to own this vase.
