Tracey, this is a Chinese image of an immortal toting symbols of long life and prosperity. The glaze colors indicate manufacture at the Southern China kiln complex at Shiwan, home of the popular 'mudmen', in the suburbs of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. That's the area formeyly called Canton.

The apparent thickness of the clay, as seen on the base, gives the image a look of being press-molded, which could be a clue that it dates to the early 20th century. However, my experience with these figurines lies more with recent slip-molded versions, of which I have one very similar to this but with the unglazed 'mudman' face and arms. Perhaps a more experienced collector can help hone in on a better date of manufacture.
