Asian Antique Jewellery Box |
Posted By: Patrick Norton Posted Date: Jun 22, 2011 (07:49 PM) |
Message Real nice box. Looks to be late 19th century from photos but impossible to value from photos due to the inlaid nacre. Many new copies of antiques that use plastic mother of pearl. The knapp joints and hardware seem to place it into mid 1800's but it is the inlaid nacre that creates value. Just like tortoiseshell tea caddy's most are plastic faux copies made for okimono. Think that means eBay in Japanese? Post a Response |
