Re: tea pot in a basket |
Posted By: Bill H Posted Date: Oct 22, 2011 (12:47 AM) |
Message Teapots nested in baskets were popular add-ons to sets of Chinese export porcelain ware during the late 19th and early 20th century, including in rose medallion patterns. Yours has enough of a non-traditional look to the decoration to suggest that it was made or decorated on a Chinese blank somewhere besides China, perhaps Thailand or elsewhere in Southeast Asia. If the woven plastic handles are original, it could be fairly new. Best regards, Bill H. Post a Response |
