Re: Korean celadon bowls |

Message Yes, greenwares were made in 19th-19th-20th centuries and now. Attempts to reproduce the fine early wares with black and white inlays were done in 18th and 19th centuries, with less success as to fineness of inlay and beauty of glaze. For the very finest, do internet search for Ataka Collection, which was conveyed to a museum (in Osaka, if memory serves) when the owner of these wondrous ceramics had financial problems. Are at least two books in English on just this collection, and other books on Korean greenwares, though perhaps not all with comprehensive coverage through the centuries. Good luck, Cal Post a Response |
