Chinese Birds on Canvas - Red Seal Marks Identification? |
Posted By: rat Posted Date: Sep 14, 2012 (12:44 PM) |
Message this is a reproduction of a painting in China that was first published in the mid 1950s in a book called "Sung-jen hua-tse". The original dates from the Song dynasty, (960-1279), perhaps from the southern Song dynasty that started in 1127. the painter is not known, the seals are collectors' seals. the two in the lower right belong to a famous Ming collector named Xiang Yuanbian. not sure of the other one pictured offhand.
