Kakiemon vase/bottle?? |
Posted By: Rachel C Posted Date: Aug 05, 2015 (05:23 AM) |
Message Hello, I was looking for any insight into this bottle vase. It appears to be Kakiemon or kakiemon style and there is a very faint signature on the base (barely visible to the naked eye but can be seen when the colour is enhanced and contrast changed on a photo). The porcelain is beautifully white and smooth and the only design is the one shown. I can't find a vase shape similar to this so any information on the signature or translation would be greatly appreciated. There are 5 colours used and they are beautifully and carefully hand painted over the glaze. The iron-red (on the flowers) is under the glaze (I think) and then there is enamel over painting of green, blue, yello and a very small amount of a brown/purple colour. The brush strokes are in fine black and red. Thanks very much. x |
