I have four silver salt and pepper shakers with a Middle Eastern motif & "look." They are six sided and measure approx.1 7/8" from top to bottom. They have age, weight, and are hand-etched with, I think, Old Testament biblical scenes. Passover story?(3-tiered brick ovens across the 6 top sides, bearded man sitting with another bearded man standing and fanning him-Haman? 3 bearded men and maybe a lamb, ovens w. flames for unleavened bread?) There are also 3 "X" designs going around the shaker: on the top perimeter where the holes are, 1/4 of the way down, and around the bottom. Each of the six sides has a different scene and all of the four shakers are the same.A 5/8" top pulls off the 1" bottom to get the salt or pepper inside and the top and bottom are lined up by a numeral, so you would know which of the six sides belongs together when putting the top back on. Very clever. I have shakers numbered 1, 2, 3, and 29. The hallmark on the bottom is very deep and seems to be written in one of the Arabic or Persian languages. Do you know anything about these salt and pepper shakers? Many thanks for your help!
