Message Hello Sally, When the lid is rotated 90 degrees to the left, the two kanji characters on the right side may be read from the top down as Shimizu or Kyomizu, both of which names turn up in association with Kyoto ceramics. The three characters on the left may be read as Yasuda Zo, or "Made by Yasuda", which is a transcription for a famous Meiji era ceramics studio, although I can't verify that it uses the same kanji for its name. Your teapot is in what I consider to be the Kyoto style. Another Yasuda piece came up in February in this forum at the link provided. Perhaps others can provide additional information,Best regards, Bill H. Link :YasudaVase
