I recently acquired this piece of pottery with an Asian design, and need help learning more about it. It has some sort of a 'seal' on the top of it, made with very hard plaster or something. (I can't make out what it says on it.) It is dark green glaze with a lot of crackling. The glaze is heavily applied and ends about a half inch or so from the bottom in a thickness, almost as if it were melting. The design is divided into 4 quarters and created by an impressed design with black glaze in the design. There is not marking on the bottom. The clay? or stoneware? appears to be a reddish/brown color by the little chips on the top. Overall height approx. 12" x 8" wide, and opening at top 4.5" wide. I know nothing about Asian antiques, but I'm pretty sure this is quite old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
