Is anyone able to help with this Japanese Imari bowl? I received some information on another forum but I still have questions. I was too embarrassed to ask on that forum for clarification of the answers given...didn't want to be a pain but I wasn't sure what he was saying in his answer.
This bowl is very beautiful. You'd really have to see in person to appreciate the incredible details. It's 8" wide x 2" tall.
So far, I have been told that the mark reads "Made by Matsukaze Tei" and that the mark has been used for some time.
The following reference was given:
"See the bottom item here:" http://www.museidigenova.it/spip.php?article173
I'm not sure how to connect the information from that link to my bowl
This was another bit of information I was given but I'm not sure the significance:
"Note that 松風 Matsukaze can also be read Shoufuu and romanized various other ways, such as Shofu, etc."
Last was a reference to a posting on this site:
"Here's much more information, as well as the indication that the more common reading in this case is Shofutei"

I am just looking for the correct way to describe this bowl....When is was made, where is was made and by whom. Thank you in advance for helping me.
