The inscription on your vase reads right to left as 'Daiyu cang qin'. 'Daiyu' would seem to be the name of the figure, apparently Lin Daiyu, a protagonist of the Chinese classic story 'Dream of the Red Chamber'. 'Cang qin' means 'to gather qin', qin being a plant with the botanical name 'phragmites japonica '. I was unable to find a more common name in English, but this could refer to a segment of the story where Lin gathers some fallen petals and buries them in the ground.

There's wikipedia.org page devoted to Lin Daiyu at the link I've pasted below. There appears to be no artist's name in your photos of the vase. Stylistically, the piece looks to me to date from about the late first quarter of the 20th century.
