Unusually shaped inlaid Japanese bronze vase, id or signature translation?

Hi,
I have a signed Ikebana vase that I am hoping to learn a little more about. It is a strait cylinder shape with a gold colored metal geometric pattern inlaid around the top. In the pattern are also inlaid silver colored designs: a flower, bamboo leaves, and cloud-like/tree top? shapes. I can see some gold color underneath the cloud-like shapes where the silver colored metal flaked off. There is also what looks to be a hand engraved signature on the bottom.

I also have (I believe) the original wood box that it came in that was tied with a flat, canvas ribbon. There is also a small, forked tree branch trimmed to fit the diameter of the vase exactly, which is why I believe it is an Ikebana vase.

If anyone can tell me anything about this piece (time period, inlay materials, translation of the signature) I would be very grateful. There are 5 pictures of the vase (3 with this message, 2 in the reply). I can take more if needed.

Thank you,
Jill
