This is a Cambodian temple rubbing that probably was mounted and framed in Northeastern Thailand or Laos circa the late 1960's or early 1970's. It may have come from a Cambodian ruin in Thailand or one in neighboring Cambodia.

The figure is a celestial being called an Apsara, who I beieve is said to pacify tense situations by dancing. I've included a link herewith to earlier relevant forum discussion.

As you can see from the photo of this Apsara I bought and had framed in Laos in the early 1970's, the frame shops all worked with the same teak and types of silk matting.
