Chinese JUN RED vase - what is this?

Greetings!

Can anyone explain the cause of the fiber like pattern in the foot ring of this vase?

Vase measures 16". Very heavily potted - weighs 18lbs (8.2 kg). Foot ring is extremely thick and deep.... about 1.0" wide and 1.75" deep.

Look at the close up photos of the inside of the foot ring. There are white fiber like patterns to the porcelain.

What causes this?
