Hello to all, I have been trying for over a month to acquire any information on this piece. Purchased from a collectors estate.
No markings. Can not find anything similar.

Is the porcelain style traceable? The art? Are the green spots on foo dog from a period???

I would sincerely appreciate any information or opinion.

This is a Japanese Kutani censer in Shoza style, 20th c.

He had it tagged Chinese Imari, which I thought Imari was japanese, till I read about Chinese Imari on gotheborg.com.

With rare exception, the polychrome designs of Chinese Imari bear little relationship to those of Japanese Imari. Chinese Imari was from the outset a product that featured Chinese designs rendered in an Imari-style palette. See Photos below.

On the surface, this piece looks to be Japanese, probably a Kutani product from the palette. Here's looking forward to input from our Japanese collector/contributors.

Thank you Mat and Bill. I most certainly see Shoza style Kutani in this piece. Don’t know why he would label it differently as he was a collector and dealer most of his life, with hundreds of pieces well tagged with his comments.

Also looking forward to Japanese contributors on this being Shoza .
