Subject:maker and/or era of this japanese fish vase
Posted By: mary Tue, May 28, 2019 IP: 2600:1700:8e30:10d0: Can anyone tell me a possible maker and/or era of this vase? I don't expect it to be antique, but I would like to know how old-ish, and if anyone recognizes the style to a particular maker that I can further research. It's only marking is this generic-looking paper label on the base. |

Posted By: Bill H Wed, May 29, 2019 I have a carp okimono, 12-inches in length, in the same palette as yours and probably by the same maker, which I believe likely is a Kutani kiln, with a manufacturing date of about the 3rd quarter of the 20th century, perhaps early post-occupation period.
