Subject:Need help identifying Asian script on this pendant/medallion

Hi,

I'm in the process of clearing my Father's house, and have come across this item. It almost certainly comes from his Grandfather, who was stationed in Hong Kong in the early 1900s.

I need help identifying the language of the script, and of course what it actually says !

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as thus far I have drawn a complete blank.

It is a Chinese apocryphal date. Quite often used on pendants etc.
元光六年作　-　Made in the 6th Year of the Yuanguang
(BC 129)
