I please need help with the writing on this piece. Does it reveal a maker? I would also like to confirm if it is Japanese Meiji Kutani and if it is good quality painting- the painting seems quite loose and expressive which I don’t really associate with Kutani? Thank you for your time.

The mark reads:
Dai 大 Nihon 日本 (Great Japan)
Kutani 九谷 Zo 造 (Made in Kutani)
Minzan 民山

Minzan is the potter and/or decorator of this vase.

I don't think this was made by the Minzan kiln (1822-1844), because "Dai Nippon" is usually an indication that something was made in the Meiji Period (1868-1912). And the Minzan kiln had a different style of decorating.

You could try to google Japanese sites with the name of the maker and Kutani in Japanese and translate the findings to English.
On the other hand, I already did this and could not find anything about this Minzan, only about the Minzan kiln 民山窯 as I wrote before.
