Subject:Camel and rider Chinese terracotta

Hello!
I am pretty certain this terracotta figurine is a modern replica.
I would like to find more about the origin or the ethnicity of the rider as such hat was not common among the Silk Road merchants. The sculpture is 53cm tall and is made of grey clay.
For curiosity I did a "water test" and the water disappear very fast but it could be because of a "slow bake" :video - https://youtu.be/MHxMJKtpb6o
I am not selling it, so TL test is not an option.
Will appreciate very much your views and opinions.
