Subject:Help Identify bowl and Mark

Here is another bowl and this mark is something I have not seen there is one close on Gotheborg but does have differences "Tongzhi Nian Zhi, Da Qing"

I believe this is a "minyao" (popular kiln) mark of the Daoguang reign (1821-50)and probably of the period. The bright pink palette was popular during the 18th century as well, as can be seen in this variant bowl and underplate with Qianlong marks and a max diameter across the plate of 4.5 in. The floral scroll is unusually well painted on an even ground.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Hi Rob,

Your bowl has a Minyao interpretation of a Qing reignmark. As I wrote, not long ago, most of them are unreadable but sometimes you can read them as f.i. the one you saw on Gotheborg. I think your's is readable to. Not "Tonghzi" but I think it's "Daoguang".

Regards,

Arjan
