Posted By: Bill H Fri, Mar 06, 2015 "CHINA" marks like this one, which looks like it may be painted on the base as opposed to being fired-on in the kiln, sometimes are found on older Chinese porcelain that was marked in this manner to make it legal for export after 1890. As such, circa 1890 or later would be a fair dating for this vase. By the way, the decoration is peach branches with buds and ripe fruit. |

I always referred to the motif as lotus flowers, but more recently believed it to be some sort of blossom per your suggestion of peach blossoms. Thank you for your suggestions and for pointing me in the right direction. |
