Subject:Help Identifying Chinese Mark on Bronze Censer
Posted By: Steve Sat, Jan 30, 2016 IP: 124.191.102.8

Hi. I have searched but have not been able to find the makers mark on a Chinese censer, I was
given. It is 3 inches high including the two looped handles and tripod feet. It is 4 1/4" wide, circular in shape. I have included a photo of the mark. Thank you in advance.

Steve, the usual reason for a photo to be rejected by the site is because it is too big. The limit is 100 kb or less. Best way to find out if you're over the limit is to right-click on the picture you want to upload to the forum, then on the pop-up menu click 'Properties'. If you have Windows, you'll get a result somewhat like the screen image below, but with only one 'Properties' page and none of the explanatory annotations shown here. If the Size line is more than 100 kb, the image will be rejected automatically.

If you're oversize and don't have Photoshop or another photo-editing program to bring the image down below the limit, I understand there's some free software online, though I've never tried any of it. Maybe others in the forum have suggestions too.

Good luck,

Bill H.
