Subject:Presumed Japanese Meiji-Era Bronze Elephant Form Censer Lid
Posted By: Bill H Sun, May 21, 2017 IP: 2601:0342:0080:4e1c: Based on what I found looking around the web, this recumbent elephant (link) looks to be the cover for a Japanese bronze censer, probably Meiji period or a bit later. Perhaps other collectors in the forum have something like it or can comment on other possible uses and origins. |
