Would anybody know what kind of mark this is? Never seen anything like this before...

It's a pity that there is a hole in the mark.
The mark is displayed upside down, but looking at the visible first character and a part of the last character, the mark is most probably: Kutani 九谷 Zo 造 (= made in Kutani).
