Subject:unkown Japanese painting

Hello,

I would be very glad if someone could help me read the artists signature.

Its a painting on silk, unmounted. Could it be from the Meiji period ?

The characters are 雪蓬

You'll need someone else to render them in Japanese.

Signed and sealed 'Seppô'.

Eventually Nemoto Seppô (根本雪蓬 - born 1878). Compare with the signature on a six-fold screen, sold at bonhams

It is Nemoto Seppô.
