Subject:Identity of artist and ink drawings
Posted By: Emma w Sat, Aug 12, 2017 IP: 142.167.254.190

Hello,

We have a series of six original ink drawings that we are hoping to identify. Any information on the artist would be helpful. I have attached a picture of one of the six images.
We believe it is from the post WWII time period in Japan.

Signature and seal reads alike,
余文 Yu Wen
Could apply to Yu Wen Xiang (余文襄)1910-93.
He was a painter of icy and snowy landscapes.
Also known as porcelain painter in Jingdezhen.

Thank you very much for the info. When I tried to find information on that artist, I had some trouble. Do you know of any good sources where we could learn more?

Thanks again,
Emma

Dear Emma,
The above explanation is a somewhat shortened
translation of the Chinese text I have found
on a Chinese language website. There was nothing
more detail given on the painter.
With regards,
