Subject:A porcelain vase with gilded bronze insert at the top and at the base
Posted By: Luciano Tue, Apr 24, 2018 IP: 193.204.90.105

Hello,
I have bought the porcelain vase (cm 20 high) with gilded bronze parts at the top and at the base, you can see in the attached pictures. To me it is beautifully painted and also the gilded bronze parts seem to me well made and gilded by mercury. Then, you see that there is no hole at the top: the vase seems like a column for some forniture or maybe, when in Europe, it was transformed for being just a decorative item...
Please, what do you think about this vase?
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Luciano

Hard to tell without seeing the base. However, might be Chinese Imari (c. 1700) or possibly even Japanese or clobbered (painted in Europe). Let's see what others think.
