Subject:Overpainted sign on print?
Posted By: maria Fri, May 04, 2018 IP: 90.224.35.252 Hello, could anyone tell me why the red signs are painted over in the sky, and why the leaves are more of a pattern printed in the paper..are they corrections that also has been painted over? There are very beautiful patterns printed in the fabric of the dress, as well as very small leftovers of mika. Can anyone tell me more about this print? (Size ca 17 x 50 cm) Who is the artist, and why is the signs and leaves painted over? Grateful regards/Maria |

Posted By: maria Mon, May 07, 2018 Hi Stan, thank you for the tip! It is It's fascinating to read. I will try to take new pictures on the details, as well as the sign in the sky. It's very, very dim or pale, and it's very hard to see, but there are signs there ... why do you think they paint it over in that way? I'm thinking of the motif, you can guess it may be so that the woman in the middle has been drinking too much sake ... what do you think about that? Perhaps it's a delicate story or a satir? Thats why the signature is missing? Mysterious print, but beautiful. Thanks again for your time! Best regards/maria |

Posted By: Stan Tue, May 08, 2018 There is some handwritten (?) text visible in the last picture. I can't read it. Perhaps, I. Nagy can help. I wonder if it is bleeding through from the back. |
