Subject:Dehua porcelain sculpture (need help identifying artist)
Posted By: Michael Fri, May 25, 2018 IP: 2600:387:1:811:0:0:0

Hello, I have finally found a sculpture I have been looking for of a Kylin with bodhisattva atop. It is beautiful but expensive for me, and wanted to find out more about the artist. It is advertised as dehua white porcelain, and the artist’s name in Chinese is said to be 许兴泰. Can anyone please help me in my research?
Thank you so very much.

Thank you so much for the information. It is very helpful and appreciated. Are his sculptures unique and rather rare, or were they produced in great numbers?
Would you say that his porcelain pieces are quite valuable?
This is a 22 inch (56 cm) tall piece, which truly appeals to me. I think it’s amazing, but wouldn’t want to be overcharged.
Thank you again for your help.
