Subject:Very old looking japanese laquerware
Posted By: Spartakos Thu, Jun 21, 2018 IP: 49.49.245.73

The packaging of this item caught my attention by it's age and amount of markings on it. Although inside is an ordinary looking wooden laquer tray. Could anyone estimate it's age and what all those markings say? Thank you.

The name inscriptions on the box reads (Pic.1-2)
的場弥平 - Matoba Yahei (or Hisahira)
I think the owner of the box
Inscription on the side of box,
蓋廣凾 - Lid of wide box
I would date the box and inscription to the Mid-Meiji era (1880s)

With regards,
I.Nagy
