Has anyone seen anything like this wooden object ?
Is it a pipe ?

hazarding a wild guess here but could be a kuba cosmetic box from democratic republic of congo. seems to be missing a hinged lid. another thought; does have some resemblance to wooden bamana carving from mali.

almost !

No, i believe it would most probably be a traditional box (for what use ?) from west Africa, Burkina Faso/ Ivory coast

Style is very similar to some Baoule/ senufo buffalo mask.
