Subject:Marge, China 1944 Chinese Translation Help

Sometimes things are so odd, they just catch your eye. I'm hoping for some help with the translation of the Chinese on this tiny vase. It appears to be pot metal or a similar metal, and it's inscribed "Marge, China 1944", with an accompanying inscription in Chinese and a small landscape scene also engraved. Now this was the height of the war in China, so it's unlikely this individual was there as a tourist. I'm assuming either connected with the diplomatic corps, or some branch of the military. Intriguingly enough, there was a woman named Marge who married a pilot by the name of Richard Bong, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his combat record as a pilot with the Indian Air Force in China. I'm wondering if there is anything in this brief inscription that might aid in her identification, and would appreciate any help.
