Subject:Help with Artist, Watercolor?
Posted By: Tom Mon, Nov 19, 2018 IP: 2601:98a:4102:5df0:e I was hoping someone could help me with the calligraphy. Does anyone know the artist or what this says? |

Posted By: Stan Sat, Dec 22, 2018 Utamaro's prints were often reproduced. They take an original print and carve new woodblocks from the print. Thus, it is a woodblock print, but NOT an original print. Typically, a repro Utamaro will sell in the $50 - $100 range on the artelino.com auction site. An original Utamaro in excellent condition goes for thousands of dollars. |
