Subject:Who is this artist?

Can anyone please translate this and tell me who the artist is by chance? Also if you have any information about the artist. The paintings are pre 1950 and were purchased somewhere in Asia, and have teak wood frames. Any help would be appreciated and I thank you for your assistance.

Both are christian painting, probably from China. I can't read the seal, but the first inscription is

天主矜憐我等 God, have mercy on us.

And the second is an annunciation painting (it's too blury, but you can see the characters 领报, to announce, in the inscription).

Thank you for your response. I have gotten some better pictures from my father. Maybe these will help. The red block is very faded but it is the same on both paintings.

Being an artist myself it is driving me crazy not knowing who the artist is. These paintings are beautiful and I would love to know all I can about them.
