Subject:Inscribed Teapot Dragon & Phoenix
Posted By: Kevin Donnelley Sun, Sep 15, 2019 IP: 69.127.29.50
this teapot w/in my opinion a well balanced form, has a handmade spout and handle w/quite a bit of depth and detail to the moulded bats and lingzhi clouds on the lid. There is a seam at the base where the bottom of the pot was attached to the pot manually, rather than showing any production mould seams
There are two sets of the 5 clawed dragon and phoenix pairings, one on each side.
The pot w/ some age to it, has one large hole at the base of the spout
Hoping to learn from one of the Chinese experts the translation of the inscription on the foot, and anything which might be helpful to know.
L: 5 1/4"; 13.3 cm
Thank you for looking
Kind regards
Kevin
