Subject:Painting, help to identify the artist, pls.

Hi everyone,
I have this oil on batik laid down on masonite board painting. I believe it is Balinese, but I�m not sure about that. Also aside from that I don�t know much about this painting, so if anyone could tell me anything more about it, or will recognize the artist, I would greatly appreciate it.

Like your other paintings, this is from Bali, Indonesia. The signature is hard to decipher as it merges with the background. However Parts are intelligible.

The lower line of the signature inscription says:
Ida Bg. Md. then a name starting with "N".

This is short for Ida Bagus Made Something - a classic Balinese name telling us that the painter is from the Brahmin caste. And he was either the second child in the family (or the sixth, or even the tenth). But that's about as far as I can go.

Your painting is a Balinese Painting by Ida Bagus Made Nadera. He is one of the 1st Tier balinese painters whose works can be viewed in Museum Puri Lukisan, Agung Rai Art Museum, and Neka Museum in Ubud.
