There are over 50 type of shoushan stone available today, and near 150 different types are recorded... You will need to do some research as to what type you have... Certainly looks like shoushan material but there has recently been very convincing stained fakes made, dont think there is anyone on site who can consider themselves an expert, even knowledge on Tianhuang (one of the most sought after types)is slightly lacking...

Is a good starting point, with examples to compare to etc..
May even be worth an email to them..

I checked the websight out, thank you.
Had problems contacting them but I am still trying.
I have some experience with fraudulent pieces, mostly easy to tell because they are castings and always have cast air bubbles on them.
thanks for your opinions!

As to my opinion looks like the shoushan often described as "chickenblood splash"
I have a copy of a yuan seal in the same material.
Much prefer tianhuang! Managed to pick a genuine piece up at a sale that was described as soapstone,
Sold it back to China for good money!!
Worth learning areas where other peoples experience is lacking...

Where did your tian huang in china? Auction? Also, do you know any expert I can bring my rock to determine if it's a Tian Huang?
