Hi I have this chair-and I am wondering about the wood type and the age..sorry about the bad quick pics-I can take more if needed-this chair is very very heavy for its size. A a dealer has offered me $1000 for it-they said its not old -dating to the 20th century and they said they would send me a bonus if, after it was shipped to them they saw it was a "good" wood. They seem really nice but I have had some bad experiences with dealers lately and I am suspicious of pretty much everyone! But, I have always gotten straight, honest good advice and information here-thank you for your time!

ok well, ask for the bonus then.
even I can see from the out of focus shot the wood is great. (side shot / rear stile) superb figuring, but bear in mind it is a late one though, & that cabriole leg is never a popular model.
