hm, interesting picture showing a lot of distress, supposedly by You Yunlong, 1877-1961, the colophon by someone surnamed Li and dated 1949; the painting style of the animals and boys looks more recent than that to me; I suspect this is a hoax but you may want the opinion of someone who can see the actual picture.

Thank you for your reply. I was told that the artist is known in Vietnam as " Do Van Long " . He painted a series "100 Buffaloes" horses, monkeys, etc during the Tang Dynasty. According to the owner, it was rediscovered in 1943, hence the date .....

No, the ink inscription is the name of Qi Baishi, a 20th century painter who has no connection with your buffalo picture.
