Hi can anyone give an idea of how old this vase is.

Just by eye I would say late 19th early 20th....Is it layered on a base of brass?

Around the very bottom on the vase and on the very top there seems to be a thin rim , like a washer,of what looks like brass.I dont think this continues on the inside.There is a very thin layer of something which is coloured black on the inside. The vase seems also very light.
