Subject:Satsuma Tea Set

I would like to know if this is a genuine Satsuma piece. I realize if it is, it's fairly modern since words are written english. ANy help of info would be greatly appreciated!

It is my understanding that the fiefdom of the Hereditary Dukes of Satsuma was abolished after the successful Meiji rebellion of 1868. Afterward, decorated crackle-glazed stoneware with Satsuma marks proliferated, thanks to studios in Kyoto and elsewhere, but such products were made largely for export and were not the wares made in kilns of Satsuma dukes in their traditional role as purveyors of pottery to the emperor.

This tea set has markings purporting it to be Satsuma, but it isn't made of the traditional stoneware and is rather common in the quality of its decoration. So in a manner of speaking, the tea set isn't really pretending to be Satsuma ware, but is brandishing the mark like a wannabe athlete in a pair of fake Nike sports shoes.
