I have some old embroidered panels that have gotten water-damaged and I would like to try to clean them. Can anyone guide me through the process to clean vintage embroidery on silk? or point me to a resource for learning how to do it?
I was able to un-frame one panel, and found the edge of the silk was glued to a heavy paper like the type used to create watercolor paintings. My instinct is that they were sold to tourists in the early '20's.
