Hi I'm sorting out my chinese stamp collection and this ones got me stumped I think it maybe south east china but I'm not sure if any one could give me a clue maybe with a translation of any part this would be greatly appreciated thanks for reading this, Steve

This appears to be scrip, as opposed to postage. The characters across the top read from the right as 'Guangdong Caizheng Ting' (廣東財政廳), The Guangdong Provincial Finance Department. The top corners read right to left as 'Er Yuan' (two dollars). The two rubber-stamped characters at the bottom say 'Guo Bi' (國幣), or National Currency. Can't quite make out what's under the rubber-stamp.

Your stamp is not a real stamp but a Guangdong (province) Department of Finance $2 (National Currency) Insurance Tax Stamp that was being used starting Sept. 1935.

There are four Chinese characters that were covered up by the rubber stamp 國幣, and from right to left they are:
保险稅票
which can be translated as Insurance Tax (revenue) stamp

On Dec. 8, 1934, the Chinese Nationalist government had approved 3 types of 35 different Revenue Laws and planned to implement them in the whole China starting Sept. 1, 1935. The purposes of all these revenue laws were to collect revenue for the Chinese Nationalist government. When Chinese bought any types of insurance, for the insurance policy to be legal and binding, for each $1,000 of coverage, a 2 cent "Insurance Tax stamp" 保险稅票 must be placed on the policy (contract). Any insurance below $1,000 coverage would not require any tax stamps.

On Dec. 20, 1928, the Nationalist Party Central Political Committee - the Guangdong branch had approved the required posting of "insurance tax stamps" on all insurance policies (contracts). The design of the stamps was with the side portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sin inside the Nationalist Party emblem, with the amount listed at four corners of the stamp. The top of the stamp has 廣東財政廳 Guangdong (province) department of finance in its middle; bottom has the 保险稅票 insurance tax (revenue) stamp.
The amount of the stamps are:
1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, $2, $5

The problem was these "insurance tax stamps" were probably printed between Dec. 20,1928 to Sept. 1, 1935 with the amount of the stamps all set. Unfortunately, starting November 4, 1935, the Chinese Nationalist government had to abolish its silver backed currency and changed its currency unit to 'Guo Bi' (國幣), or National Currency and therefore they had to put rubber stamps 國幣 on all of these Insurance Tax Stamps before they could be used.
